Core Materials

A core material is used to make a so-called “sandwich” structure. It is located between two layers of reinforcements and resins. It can be of different kinds: polyester felt, PVC/PU/PET/SAN foam, wood, balsa, honeycomb.

Composite materials with sandwich core allow:

• Improve the desired mechanical characteristics,
• Save time during implementation and therefore increase productivity
• To reduce the weight of the final composite part
• To improve production processes, particularly in infusions.

Depending on the manufacturing method used, the foams can have a different finish: grooved, perforated, checkered, etc.
